Our Pastor & Family

Our Pastor
Pastor Darryl K. Williams

Our Pastor and First LadyDarryl Keith Williams is the youngest of six children born to the late Harvey L. and Mary L. Williams.  His parents took him to Greater Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ when he was two years old.  This is where Darryl was nurtured and grew spiritually under the leadership of his spiritual father, Bishop F. L. Cunningham.  At Greater Pentecostal Temple he served as Adult Sunday School Teacher, Personal Administrative Assistant to Bishop Cunningham and Platform Chairman.  He also served on the Executive Board.

Bishop Cunningham licensed Elder Williams as a Minister in 1994.  His first sermon was “Only the Strong Survive” (Ephesians 6:10).  He was ordained as an Elder by Bishop N.W. Wells II in 2003.

After Elder Williams’ had completed his work at Greater Pentecostal Temple, he and his family became faithful members at Resurrection Life Ministries Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Joseph O. Wilkins, Sr.  At Resurrection Life he served as Adult Sunday School Teacher, and Platform Chairman.  He also served on the Executive Board.

Elder Williams is currently employed at IndyMac Bank in Kalamazoo as Vice President of Operations.  He has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Michelle Bettis Williams for 16 years and they have two beautiful children—Devonte Jermain Keith and Denai Nichole.  Elder Williams, together with his wife Michelle, have been instrumental in ministering to our teens in the Covert and South Haven area for the past three years.  This ministry has no walls—the teens come from all walks of life and all denominations.  They have even found their way into the Williams’ home simply by word of mouth.  Most Monday nights the Williams’ home would be full of teenagers who needed to be mentored.

In March 2008, Elder Williams and his family became members at Lily of the Valley Church under the leadership of the late Bishop L.C. Berry.  On June 1, 2008, Bishop Berry named Elder Williams as his successor and on June 22, 2008, Bishop Berry made the transition from this earthly life to his permanent home with the Lord.  On July 22, 2008 Elder Williams was appointed Pastor at Lily of the Valley Church.

Elder Williams has the awesome gift of being anointed to usher in the spirit of the Lord.  He and Sister Williams have ministered together to the saints at Lily of the Valley Church.  Through their love and kindness the membership at Lily of the Valley Church has increased tremendously and God is doing a great work!  Although Elder and Sister Williams have been at Lily of the Valley Church a short time, God has given Elder Williams to establish the following:  Second Chance Ministry, Evangelistic & Outreach, Seniors for Christ, Courtesy Outreach, Foreign Missions, Accountability Partnering and the Singles and Married Couples Ministry.

When Bishop Berry appointed Elder Williams as his successor he told him, “Son, I have built the natural house, go forth and build the spiritual house and it will be marvelous!”

The members at Lily of the Valley Church are grateful for the insight and wisdom that Bishop Berry had in his selection of a successor to lead the flock and we welcome Elder Darryl Williams along with his lovely wife Michelle as our new leader.
